my pad
i haven't been blogging lately, sorry. jules got to egypt at 2AM on valentine's day, so we've been catching up and working. i was "lent" to a site near alexandria (3 hours away) for a couple days to check some foundation work. this is the same site i'd been to two times before. i was supposed to be there sunday-tuesday. jules asked TheLead if she could go too, because right now, she's auditing wiring diagrams which can be done anywhere with her drawings and a computer, so she went up with me on saturday night. on sunday, i went to work and got as much work done as they had ready, they told me to take monday and tuesday off in alex, then come back wednesday. i called them on tuesday night and found out they wouldn't be ready until thursday. i went to work thursday, finished up the work, and jules and i got back to cairo around 4PM. so, and original 3 days job (theoretically, 24 hours of work), turned out to be 6 days totaling ABOUT 8 hours of work and 3 days vacationing in alex on the mediterranean sea. lovely.
anyways, last friday, on our day off, i made a video tour of our apartment in maadi. i've just recently gotten internet access good enough (i'm stealing it now until i can get the internet guy here maybe monday) to upload the vid. i'm putting out a pseudo-open invitation to anyone who can afford to fly to egypt and has a passport, get in touch. we have plenty of spare bedrooms, and we know a good personal taxi driver to take you around town. if i don't like you, i'll just come up with an excuse like "our schedules are really busy around that time" or something, hah. so, here's our place (if you are having issues with playing this in firefox, let me know. i know it works in IE, check it out there)...

what's with the video - says "We're sorry this video is no longer available." I wanted to see where I was going to be staying.
So glad you are back on here. Missed ya baby!
XXXOOO
OK finally got it - my bedroom looks nice too!! Love Jules gargling - you are so adept at the cinematography thing!! Nice apartment - love the pool table too! Have you got your list of "chores" since you don't have maid service now???
Nice pad! Love the home theater setup you got going on and the pool table. Now all you need is to bring back your 360 from home. Hell maybe we should move Chad's bachelor party to Egypt with all the room you got there. Doesn't look like the trip to Windsor is going to happen. Too many people have cancelled. We'll have to do something when you get in for the wedding. Later.
Dude -- what are you going to do with that pool table??? Are you going to ship it home??? Wow.
mom: jules let me keep the housekeeper. once a week, 8 hrs, she cleans, does laundry and dishes, etc. while we are at work.
T: bachelor party here, sounds great, too mad i don't think many of the BTBz have passports. damn!
wayne: yeah, i get 800lbs here, and 1000lbs home. it doesn't weight that much. it was easier to buy it off TheMech than moving it out.
dude, sweet pad! it's like the first draft of the b-town-lair, but half way across the fukkin world. that's great that you have a cool place complete with home entertainment system and pool table, but you can't have any of your friends over. way to go! anyway, are you seriously going to ship the pool table to the states when you are done? that's too crazy.
I must comment on the music in the background, though... "Ain't Nobody!?!?!?!?!" I mean I definitely dig the 80's vibe, but it's sure not the ambience I expected from your apartment tour.
Unfortunately for me, the bachelor party is in the pooper. Too many people don't give a shit about me to make an attempt to go (detect: sarcasm). Anyway, maybe we can get drunk and see some titties when you get home. See you then, homey!
