random thoughts
so tonight, we were doing alignment for the THIRD night. actually, it's not too bad, but turning at 20-some-odd ton rotor with just come-alongs takes a while. then lifting it to add or remove shims and whatnot. anyways, throughout the night i've had some random thoughts i would share.
- for some reason, cyndi lauper's "time after time" has been stuck in my head. i have clue where i caught it from.
- i think i'm an inadvertent flirt, and i tihnk i flirt with people i have no attraction to at all. there's a girl onsite, the toolroom attendant, who i seem to make laugh with something stupid everytime i come to get a tool. we talk, i joke, whenever she sees me, she smiles. i think i'm just being jovial, but i think this may be flirting. i don't mean to, i'm just being nice. being nice in this similar mannaer actually got me kissed by accident a few years ago. i was trying to cheer this girl up, she was having a bad day, no attraction at all, and then she kissed me. wtf?! then when it comes to girls i like, i clam up. i have no clue what to say or do, blah.
- when you burn something, where does the conservation of mass go? i know i know this, and maybe i'm just too tired, but what happens. if you take a pile of wood and set it afire, the ash in no way equals the mass of the logs. i'm sure you lose some up the chimney, but not enough to account for ALL that mass. i know there are losses in heat of course, but that would deal with conservation of energy, not mass.
