WAY TO GO, BLACK AND GOLD
man, that was a game. it was really good to see the steelers at least once this season. there were some questionable calls against the seahawks like the offensive pass interference play in the end-zone. it could've gone either way. by the letter of the law, it seems, yes it was interference as a pushoff, but... come on, it happens, he WAS stopping and changing direction. the roethlisberger TD... another tough one. ANY minutely small part of the ball has to cross the very micron front part of that line. it's possible but it's in the shadows and per challenge rules, there wasn't indisputable evidence to overrule.
and that reverse halfback pass from randel el to hines ward... a thing of beauty. i don't call it a trick play. it's a non-standard play, but if it works, it works. why do you have to call it a trick play. that's like having 20 run plays, then a pass play. you are setting the defense into a run state of mind to throw them off. it's not a trick, it's just non-standard in this particular example. either way, beautiful. hines had a nice shoestring catch, and roethlisberger putting his shoulder down on a run along the sidelines... that's what i like to see. i was hoping bettis could make a TD but i'm sure the ring will feel just fine without it. i'm sad to see him retiring, but everyone's gotta go sometime so why not while you're on top. it's been good, Bus
i'm not quite up on the records, but apparently there were quite a few set this morning (er... last night to you americans), including youngest quarterback to win a SuperBowl. i'm liking Steelers Fanatic. i went back today to see what he said about the game and he's the right kinda guy. he's not a blind "pittsburgh is better than every team no matter what you say" dude. he pointed out their flaws, and some of the possible gifts that some might say were given to pittsburgh. fair and balanced, like FoxNews. i like writing certain capitalized words without spaces like that. and like TheMom, but she did that.
anyways, now i'm exhausted. went to the bar for karaoke last night, and they packed it up about 10 minutes after walking in (my reputation precedes me). back to the room around 10:30pm or so, bed around 11:00pm and up at 4:30am for the game. ordered some food last night so i'd have some "game snacks".
everyone went to work at 7:00am, but i stayed back until the game was over and got to site around 9:00am. i'm tired. we aren't doing anything today onsite, so that certainly makes the time drag, but i have my bettis jersey and steelers hat on. i have my terrible towel on my hammer loop, a temp tattoo because i'm just that gay (so is emma, i gave her one, she's on the bandwagon) and TheMom sent it along, and her porch goose steeler outfit on my waterbottle. i think i'm steeler enough for the day.
